Kolkata, May 29 -- The West Bengal government has initiated the process of identifying land for a proposed medical college in Kalimpong, with the district magistrate being asked to earmark a suitable site, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari said on Friday.
"I have directed the district magistrate to identify a suitable piece of land where the medical college can be set up and to prepare a detailed project report (DPR)," Adhikari said after a high level coordination meeting regarding North Bengal and the hilly regions.
Adhikari said the project would be developed under the state government's cost-sharing model.
He also said that three Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs from Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Kurseong have been asked to visit hospitals...
