Kolkata, May 28 -- Trinamool Congress MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar has lodged a complaint with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla against fellow party MP Kalyan Banerjee, alleging repeated verbal misconduct and insulting behaviour towards women parliamentarians inside the House.
The complaint, which became public on Wednesday, marks a fresh escalation in the ongoing rift within the Trinamool Congress.
In her letter, Kakoli sought formal permission from the Speaker to file an official complaint against Banerjee. She alleged that the Serampore MP had repeatedly humiliated her and several other women MPs through verbal remarks during parliamentary proceedings.
