Kakinada, Oct. 18 -- District Collector M. N. Harendhira Prasad on Sunday inspected the Fishing Harbour in Kakinada and reviewed the infrastructure, fish storage and export facilities as part of efforts to strengthen harbour development in line with international fish export regulations.
During the visit, the Collector held discussions with officials on the proposed development plan and enquired about deep-sea fishing operations, trade transactions, export trends and infrastructure requirements at the field level.
He sought details on the number of fishing boats arriving at the harbour daily, the volume of business generated and the countries importing fish and prawns from Kakinada.
