Kaithal, Sept. 9 -- Crop residues are a useful resource for farmers. Instead of burning them as waste, proper management is the need of the hour. In-situ management of crop residues increases the amount of organic carbon in the soil, improving soil fertility, said Dr. Ramesh Chandra Verma, Senior Coordinator of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kaithal, under the Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar.
He said this while addressing farmers at a village-level crop residue management program organized in village Kailaram.
