Mumbai, June 13 -- Acclaimed filmmaker Kabir Khan is revisiting his documentary roots after nearly two decades with "The Wolf", an observational documentary that is set to have its world premiere on June 13 at the Sheffield International Documentary Festival.
Directed by the filmmaking duo of Wancheng Gu and Prasad Sudhakar Shetty, the film is an observational documentary following Yuan, a 60-year-old queer former village mayor in Shanghai, as she navigates love, family obligations and shifting economic landscapes.
Delving deeply into themes of LGBTQIA visibility, feminist resilience, aging, and contemporary Chinese culture, the film delivers a rare, universal perspective on autonomy and reinvention later in life, reports Variety India.
