New Delhi, Sept. 8 -- Indian Kabaddi player Brijendra Singh Choudhary has been stripped of his silver medal from the Asian Beach Games after testing positive for the prohibited diuretic brinzolamide, the International Testing Agency (ITA) said on Tuesday.
Choudhary, who was part of India's silver-winning men's Beach Kabaddi team at the 6th Asian Beach Games in Sanya, tested positive following an in-competition urine sample collected on April 27. He accepted the anti-doping rule violation and the resulting sanction.
"The International Testing Agency (ITA), on behalf of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), reports that Indian Kabaddi player Brijendra Singh Choudhary has been sanctioned for an anti-doping rule violation (ADRV)," it stated.
