Bengaluru, Aug. 21 -- The Karnataka Legislative Assembly was disrupted for the fifth consecutive day on Friday as the BJP and JD(S) intensified their demand for the removal of Planning and Statistics Minister B Nagendra over the alleged embezzlement of funds in the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation.

As soon as the House convened, Opposition members raised slogans demanding Nagendra's immediate removal from the Cabinet, forcing the Speaker to intervene and appeal to them to allow the proceedings to continue.

The Opposition also stepped up its protest outside the House, with BJP leaders and legislators marching from the Valmiki statue towards Vidhana Soudha and demanding Nagendra's resignation. The BJP has ...
