Dhule, Aug. 24 -- : Supreme Court Justice P. B. Varale has underscored the need to place education at the forefront of public policy, expressing concern over the declining condition of Marathi-medium schools in Maharashtra and urging greater financial support for their preservation.

Speaking at a function in Dhule district, Justice Varale reflected on his own academic background and emphasized that education should remain a key priority even as governments pursue large infrastructure projects and organize large-scale public events.

Drawing attention to the proposed expenditure for the Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Simhastha Kumbh Mela, he noted that a very small portion of the allocated funds could significantly strengthen the education sector.
