Patna, June 25 -- The judicial inquiry ordered by the Bihar government in the controversial Bharat Tiwari encounter case in Bhojpur district formally commenced on Thursday. A team led by retired judge Vinod Kumar Sinha visited Bilauti village, met the deceased's family members, and began examining the circumstances surrounding the police encounter that has sparked political debate, public protests, and demands for a CBI investigation.
Sinha was accompanied by Shahabad Range DIG Satya Prakash, Bhojpur District Magistrate Tanai Sultania, Superintendent of Police Raj, and several other administrative and police officials.
