Nashik, April 8 -- A significant hearing regarding the case of the fraudulent godman Ashok Kharat from Nashik took place today at the District Sessions Court. As Kharat's police custody had expired, he was produced before the court today.
Since the court remanded the accused to judicial custody in connection with a second case, he is now set to be transferred to the Nashik Central Prison.
Considering the gravity of the Ashok Kharat case and the potential security risks involved, he was not brought physically to the courtroom, but was instead produced before Justice B. E. Ichpurani via video conferencing.
