Ranchi, March 25 -- Jharkhand electricity consumers will pay higher power tariffs from April 1 after the Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission (JSERC) approved revised rates for domestic and commercial categories for 2026-27.
JSERC chairman Navneet Kumar said urban domestic consumers will now pay Rs 7.40 per unit against Rs 6.85, while rural domestic consumers will pay Rs 7.20 per unit against Rs 6.70.
The hike works out to 55 paise per unit for urban households and 50 paise per unit for rural households.
For commercial consumers with load above 5 kW, the tariff has been revised to Rs 6.70 per unit from Rs 6.20 in rural areas and to Rs 7.30 per unit from Rs 6.70 in urban areas.
