Srinagar, July 12 -- People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader Iltija Mufti today claimed that she and her mother, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, had been placed under house arrest on the eve of Martyrs' Day, alleging that the move reflected a continued clampdown on political activity in the Valley.
In a post on X, Iltija Mufti alleged that they had been confined to their residence in Khimber on the outskirts of Srinagar "for reasons best known to J&K Police.""We have been placed under house arrest on the eve of Martyrs Day for reasons best known to JK Police. This is the normalcy they claim to have established in Kashmir?" she wrote.
