Raipur/Jagdalpur, Sept. 5 -- More than 13 years after the Jheeram Valley massacre in Bastar, in which Maoists killed 27 people, including senior Congress political figures, a special NIA court in Jagdalpur has convicted all 10 accused who faced trial in the case.

The court has yet to pronounce the sentences, so the legal process is not over yet.

The verdict came on Saturday after the court completed hearing the final arguments and reserved its order.

The decision had been expected on August 31 but was subsequently postponed to September 5.

The attack took place on May 25, 2013, in the Darbha area of Bastar, when Maoists targeted the Congress Parivartan Yatra as it travelled back from Sukma towards Jagdalpur. The convoy came under a coor...
