Ranchi, Aug. 14 -- One worker from Jharkhand was killed and another was reported trapped after water and debris suddenly entered an under-construction tunnel of the Vishnugad-Pipalkoti hydropower project in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, the Jharkhand government said on Friday.
According to the state government, seven workers from Jharkhand were affected in the accident. One was killed, five injured and another was among the workers reported missing and trapped inside the tunnel.
The accident occurred on Thursday evening at Mayapur, Pipalkoti, when water and debris entered the construction tunnel, causing it to cave in.
A total of 29 workers were present inside the tunnel at the time of the incident. Seven workers were reported dead, 1...
