Ranchi, March 17 -- Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday directed officials to identify potential eco-tourism sites and prepare a comprehensive plan to accelerate eco-tourism development in the state.

The direction came during a meeting of the governing body of the Jharkhand Eco Tourism Authority (JETA) held under his chairmanship at the Jharkhand Assembly.

Soren stressed the need for coordinated efforts among the Forest, Tourism and Water Resources departments to tap the state's eco-tourism potential.

He said Jharkhand's natural beauty offers significant opportunities for eco-tourism, which can generate employment for local communities while ensuring environmental conservation.
