Ranchi, July 6 -- Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Monday directed officials to prepare a roadmap for developing eco-tourism in identified underground mine areas as part of the state's strategy to promote tourism and generate employment.
Reviewing the progress of the Tourism, Art, Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Soren asked officials to identify suitable underground coal mine sites and explore their potential as tourism destinations.
He also directed the department to prepare an integrated eco-tourism development plan for districts including East Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharsawan, Giridih, Latehar, Hazaribagh and Ranchi.
