Ranchi, Feb. 26 -- The Home, Prison and Disaster Management Department of the Jharkhand Government has made provision to provide financial compensation to victims or their dependents under the Jharkhand Victim Compensation Scheme, 2016, for losses or damages caused due to various crimes.
Under the scheme, minimum compensation amounts have been fixed for different categories of offences. Victims of acid attacks and rape are entitled to a minimum compensation of Rs 3 lakh each, while Rs 2 lakh has been earmarked for cases involving sexual assault of minors, official sources stated here on Thursday.
