Ranchi, June 16 -- Jharkhand's vast reserves of critical minerals and prospects for technology-driven mining drew the attention of a visiting US delegation during a high-level meeting with state officials here on Tuesday.
The delegation, led by US Consul General Kathy Giles-Diaz, held discussions with Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar on opportunities for cooperation in mineral exploration, extraction and processing, particularly in the emerging critical minerals sector.
Officials briefed the delegation on Jharkhand's mineral wealth, noting that apart from coal, iron ore, copper, bauxite and gold, the state possesses deposits of several strategically important minerals, including lithium, titanium, vanadium, silver and graphite.
