Ranchi, May 23 -- The Jharkhand Police Association has urged the state government to revise allowances and address long-pending welfare issues concerning police personnel.

In a letter to the government, association joint secretary Rakesh Pandey sought an increase in uniform, ration, special duty and washing allowances, citing rising costs and the demanding nature of police duties.

The association has also demanded enhancement of technical and armourer allowances, introduction of medal and education allowances, training benefits and extension of difficult-area allowances to eligible personnel.
