Ranchi, March 16 -- Jharkhand Health, Food Supply and Disaster Management Minister Irfan Ansari on Monday said the state government is preparing to establish a medicine manufacturing industry to strengthen the healthcare sector and generate employment opportunities for youth.

Speaking at a programme held at the National Health Mission (NHM) auditorium in Ranchi, Ansari said the proposed industry would help Jharkhand become self-reliant in drug production and reduce dependence on medicines sourced from outside the state.

The programme was organised jointly by the Pharmacy Council of India, RKDF University and RKDF Pharmacy College.
