Ranchi/Thoothukudi, June 20 -- : A migrant worker from Jharkhand was allegedly beaten to death following a dispute at a liquor outlet in Tamil Nadu's Thoothukudi district, police said on Saturday.
The deceased, identified as Rajesh Kumar Singh (40), was working on contract at VinFast's manufacturing facility near Ottapidaram in Thoothukudi district.
According to police, the incident occurred late on Thursday night near a TASMAC liquor shop in the Third Mile area. Rajesh was reportedly consuming alcohol when an argument broke out between him and four other persons. The dispute allegedly escalated, following which the accused assaulted him with a wooden log, resulting in his death.
