Kolkata, June 18 -- The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids at two places in the eastern metropolis and a site in Nadia district of West Bengal on Thursday as part of an investigation into a four-year-old Maoist subversive activity case in Jharkhand.

Three individuals, including a woman activist, have been summoned to Jharkhand for questioning;The counter-terrorism agency carried out search operations at two locations in the city.

The probe was linked to a case dating back to 2022. A team visited the residence of Tathagata Roy Chowdhury - a Jadavpur alumnus and secretary of the 'Biplabi Chhatra Front '- around 4-30 AM. Several publications belonging to the student organisation were seized from the premises.
