Ranchi, March 18 -- The Jharkhand High Court has set aside an advertisement issued by Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Ltd (JBVNL) for appointment of Second Members in Consumer Grievance Redressal Forums (CGRFs), holding that their tenure cannot be curtailed without performance evaluation.
Allowing a writ petition filed by three serving members, the court said the distribution licensee must first assess their performance before taking a decision on extension of tenure.
The petitioners had challenged Advertisement No. 03/2025 dated August 7, 2025, through which JBVNL sought to fill posts currently held by them, alleging violation of the Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission (JSERC) Regulations, 2020.
