Ranchi, Aug. 14 -- Political differences intensified in Jharkhand on Friday over the revenue implications of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026, with Finance Minister Radha Krishna Kishore warning of a major financial loss to the state and Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi asserting that better control over illegal mining could increase royalty revenue.
Kishore, who was in Palamu, said the amendment would adversely affect mineral-rich states, with Jharkhand likely to suffer the biggest impact.
