Ranchi, July 26 -- Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar on Sunday paid tribute to the martyrs of the 1999 Kargil War and honoured veterans and families of fallen soldiers at a Kargil Vijay Diwas programme organised by the Veteran Organisation of Jharkhand in Ranchi.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor said Kargil Vijay Diwas symbolised the courage, sacrifice and unwavering commitment of the Indian Armed Forces in defending the nation's sovereignty. He said the bravery displayed by Indian soldiers under difficult conditions in the Kargil conflict remained a source of inspiration for future generations.
