Ranchi, April 22 -- Jharkhand Director General of Police Tadasha Mishra on Wednesday reviewed measures to curb illegal opium cultivation and drug abuse in the state, officials said.
The review meeting was held via video conferencing with superintendents of police from districts including Ranchi, Chatra, Palamu, West Singhbhum, Hazaribagh, Latehar, Seraikela-Kharsawan and Khunti, which are affected by illegal cultivation.
During the meeting, the DGP assessed data related to destruction of opium crops in 2025, verification of land records in the 2025-26 crop cycle, status of registered cases and action taken against those involved in cultivation and trafficking.
