Ranchi, June 30 -- The Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) on Tuesday paid tributes to Hul heroes Sido, Kanhu, Chand, Bhairav, Phulo and Jhano on the occasion of Hul Diwas and reaffirmed its commitment to protecting tribal rights, social justice and constitutional values.
Led by state Congress president Keshav Mahato Kamlesh, party leaders and workers offered floral tributes at the portraits of the Hul heroes at Congress Bhavan and later at Sido-Kanhu Park in Morabadi here.
Addressing the gathering, Kamlesh described the Santhal Hul of 1855 as a landmark movement against British rule, exploitation and oppression.
