Ranchi, Sept. 26 -- Ranchi district administration on Saturday ordered assessment of crop damage caused by continuous heavy rain and sought an early report.
District magistrate-cum-deputy commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri reviewed the rainfall situation in the district and directed the additional collector and circle officers to assess damage in their respective areas.
Bhajantri directed the district agriculture officer to conduct a comprehensive assessment of crop damage and submit a report covering the affected crop area, number of farmers affected and estimated losses.
The district magistrate also directed all circle officers to conduct detailed surveys in their respective areas to assess damage caused by the continuous rainfall.
