Ramgarh, June 26 -- Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (PVUNL) on Thursday commenced commercial operations of its second 800 MW unit, taking the project's operational capacity to 1,600 MW within seven months.

PVUNL, a joint venture of NTPC Limited and Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (JBVNL), said the commissioning of Unit-2 would strengthen reliable power supply to Jharkhand and other beneficiary states.

The company said both 800 MW units had now been commissioned within seven months, marking a significant milestone in project execution and enhancing the country's power generation capacity.
