Ranchi, Sept. 9 -- Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) general secretary Vinod Kumar Pandey on Wednesday questioned the Election Commission, Income Tax Department and investigating agencies over alleged receipt of large donations by unrecognised registered political parties.
Pandey referred to a media report about several registered but unrecognised political parties allegedly receiving large amounts of donations despite having little or no visible political activity.
He said there were more than 2,800 registered political parties in the country, including six national parties and 67 recognised regional parties, while the remaining parties were registered but unrecognised.
