Ranchi, Aug. 5 -- Student leader Devendra Nath Mahato on Wednesday resumed water intake while continuing his indefinite fast over the alleged irregularities in JPSC, JSSC and CGL examinations after education reformer Sonam Wangchuk appealed to him through a video call to safeguard his health.

Mahato, who has been on an indefinite fast since August 2, said he accepted Wangchuk's request and would continue the agitation peacefully until the students' demands were met.

During the interaction, Wangchuk expressed support for the agitating students and urged the Jharkhand government to consider their demands seriously. He advised Mahato to consume water and other essential fluids, saying the objective of a peaceful protest was to awaken society...
