Ranchi, July 20 -- The Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee on Monday rejected the BJP's allegations of police excess in Jamtara, asserting that the law applied equally to everyone and that legal action should not be portrayed as political persecution.
Addressing mediapersons through a statement, Jharkhand Congress secretary and spokesperson Rishikesh Singh described BJP spokesperson Pratul Shah Deo's allegations as misleading and politically motivated.
Singh said if there had been any procedural lapses in the police action, the matter could be addressed before the competent authorities or courts.
