Bokaro, June 28 -- The Bokaro district administration has issued a high alert after a herd of around 30 wild elephants, including two to three pregnant female elephants, was spotted moving through several villages in Gomia block.

According to the Forest Department, the herd is active in Gopo, Palu, Barki Punnu and Kusumdih-Kanidih areas.

Officials said the movement of the herd has slowed due to the presence of pregnant elephants, raising the possibility that it may remain in the area for a longer period.

The administration has asked residents of Mahuatand, Dhawaiya, Simrabeda, Darhabeda, Kusumdih, Kanidih, Gaga, Tikahara, Futkadih and Kander villages to remain vigilant. Villagers have been advised not to venture out at night, avoid appro...
