Ranchi, July 28 -- Jharkhand on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Tata Motors Ltd for setting up an Institute of Driving Training and Research (IDTR) at Jamshedpur to strengthen driver training, improve road safety and enhance employment opportunities in the transport sector.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who attended the MoU signing ceremony at the Jharkhand Ministry, said the institute would provide technology-driven driver training, promote skill development and help create employment while contributing to safer roads.

During the programme, the Chief Minister interacted with beneficiaries through video conferencing to review the process of issuing driving and learner's licences.
