Kolkata, June 9 -- Veteran actress Jaya Prada has been roped in for a pivotal role in Hirak Ranir Deshe, an upcoming bilingual political satire from two-time National Award-winning director Ujjwal Chatterjee.

The film is set to go on floors on June 21 and is targeting October 2026 for its release, which coincides with Bengalis' biggest festival, Durga Puja.

The project marks the actress's 295th film, with Jaya Prada set to essay one of the most substantial roles of her career in recent years.
