Jammu, Aug. 1 -- Authorities on Friday ordered the closure of all government and private schools in Ramban, Kishtwar and Doda districts following heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions, while restoration work continued on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44), which remained closed due to slush and hazardous road conditions.

According to orders issued in three hilly districts of the Jammu region by the respective Chief Education Officers, the decision was taken on the directions of the district administrations to ensure the safety of students and teaching staff.
