Srinagar, April 14 -- The anti-drug campaign in Jammu and Kashmir is set to gain fresh momentum, with J&K Police planning to intensify efforts in the coming days to curb the menace of substance abuse.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir V K Birdi on Tuesday said that a renewed push is being initiated under the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan with strict directions issued to all concerned departments, particularly the police, to adopt a zero-tolerance approach against drugs.

On the sidelines of Baisakhi celebrations at a Srinagar Gurudwara, the IGP told reporters the objective of the intensified campaign is to safeguard both the present and future generations from falling prey to drug addiction.
