Jammu, May 26 -- The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday attached immovable property worth crores of a drug peddler in the Kathua district.

A police spokesman here said that immovable property comprising shops/dhabas with a total estimated value of approximately Rs 1.25 crore (market value), belonging to a drug peddler, namely Sudesh Mehta of Chapper, Tehsil Hiranagar, District Kathua, has been attached under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act) 1985.

"The property was identified as illegally acquired during the course of investigation," he said.

The entire proceeding was conducted under the directions of SSP Kathua Mohita Sharma along with SP Operations Kathua, SDPO Border and SHO PS Hiranagar....
