Jammu, March 3 -- Acting tough, the Jammu and Kashmir government has terminated the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojna (PMGSY) contract worth Rs 2,543.05 lakhs and blacklisted the contractor.

An official handout issued here said that the government has terminated two major road construction contracts in Kathua, blacklisting the contractor for delays in work completion.

Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary said the contracts, awarded to M/s Puran Chand and Sons, Jammu, have been terminated due to the contractor's failure to meet the deadlines despite repeated notices and extended opportunities.
