Srinagar, June 18 -- : Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat on Thursday flagged off 45 Mountain Rescue Teams (MRTs) for deployment along the twin routes of the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, emphasizing the importance of preparedness, joint training and interoperability among rescue agencies.
Addressing the flag-off ceremony, the DGP said that the growing threat of cloudbursts, landslides and other climate-related disasters in mountainous regions has increased the importance of trained rescue personnel.
