Jammu, Aug. 5 -- Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday announced that families rendered landless by the recent flash floods and cloudbursts in Poonch district would be allotted five-marla plots as part of the government's rehabilitation measures.
Abdullah made the announcement during a visit to the flood-affected areas of Poonch, where he assessed the extent of the damage, met bereaved families and reviewed ongoing rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts.
The chief minister said the government would ensure the resettlement of families who had lost their land in the disaster by providing them five-marla plots.
