Srinagar, June 10 -- Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday disengaged a Special Police Officer (SPO) from service with immediate effect following his alleged involvement in a narcotics-related case registered in north Kashmir's Baramulla district.
Police said that SPO Khalid Nazir Khan, a resident of Katipora Tangmarg, was disengaged after his name surfaced in an NDPS case registered at Police Station Kunzer. SPOs are low paid part time employees who do variety of jobs in the J&K policeAccording to police, on April 23, during naka checking at Wussan Crossing conducted by Police Station Kunzer, an Alto vehicle was intercepted for inspection. The occupants of the vehicle, including the said SPO, were found in a suspicious condition.
