Motihari, May 25 -- Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor today launched a sharp political attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party, announcing that his party will give a tough fight to the BJP in the upcoming Bankipur Assembly bypoll in Patna.
Addressing party leaders and workers in Motihari, Kishor described Bankipur as a long-standing BJP stronghold that has remained undefeated for nearly 40 years. He, however, asserted that Jan Suraaj would contest the seat with full strength and attempt to "defeat the BJP in its own bastion."Alleging electoral malpractice, Kishor claimed that in previous elections voters were influenced through distribution of money, and said his party would work to ensure a fair contest this time.
