Patna, June 17 -- Accusing the government of allegedly altering the alignment of the proposed Patna-Purnia Greenfield Expressway in Bihar's Samastipur district to benefit an influential individual whose land was likely to be affected by the project, the Jan Suraaj on Wednesday demanded an independent inquiry into the matter.
Addressing a press conference here, senior Jan Suraaj leader Padma Ojha, party spokesperson Vivek Kumar, and spokesperson Captain Rajeev Ranjan claimed that residents of the Sarairanjan area in Samastipur district had alleged that the expressway route was changed under pressure from an influential person whose 10.5 bighas of land were falling within the original project alignment.
