Chandigarh, Sept. 20 -- Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sunil Jakhar today questioned the law-and-order situation in Punjab, citing a reported police advisory asking personnel to take precautions while travelling following a series of attacks on officers.

"Criminals in Punjab no longer fear the police; instead, the police themselves appear to be living in fear of gangsters and goons," Jakhar, a former Punjab BJP president, said in a post on social media platform X.

Jakhar said the advisory had been issued against the backdrop of killings of police personnel in the state and described it as a reflection of the security challenges facing the force.
