New Delhi, Aug. 27 -- Congress general secretary in-charge communications Jairam Ramesh on Thursday questioned what he described as contradictory statements by senior army officers on Pakistan-China coordination during Operation Sindoor, asking the Narendra Modi government to clarify what he termed a matter of national importance.
In a post on social media platform X, Ramesh compared remarks made by Deputy Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Rahul Singh on July 4, 2025, with those made by former Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Anil Chauhan on August 25, 2026, arguing that the two accounts appeared to offer fundamentally different assessments of the role played by China during the military confrontation with Pakistan.
