Siliguri, July 25 -- West Bengal Minister of State for Home and Hill Affairs Bishal Lama on Saturday said the proposed land port at Jaigaon on the Indo-Bhutan border would be completed as planned, while assuring that the state government would address the grievances of the few families claiming they had not received compensation for the acquired land.
Lama said the previous government had resumed leased tea garden land and handed it over to the Land Port Authority of India (LPAI) in 2022 for the construction of the integrated land port. He said most of the affected families had already been compensated properly.
