Shimla, April 25 -- Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur said that the Himachal Pradesh High Court has declared the Himachal Pradesh Government Employees Recruitment and Service Conditions Bill, 2024 unconstitutional, sharply criticising the state government over what he termed as repeated legal setbacks.
In a statement issued from Mandi on Saturday, Thakur said the state government had earlier attempted to introduce similar provisions aimed at altering service conditions of employees, including contractual tenure and seniority, but such efforts were struck down by a division bench headed by the then Chief Justice.
He alleged that the government had also approached the Supreme Court in the matter but failed to secure relief.
