New Delhi, Aug. 27 -- Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Thursday performed the Bhoomi Pujan for a Rs 472-crore T-Series Tanks Overhaul Project at Vehicle Factory, Jabalpur, aimed at strengthening the Indian Army's operational readiness and advancing indigenous defence capabilities.
The project, being established at Vehicle Factory Jabalpur, a unit of Mini Ratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVNL), will create dedicated facilities for overhauling T-72 and T-90 tanks. The facility is envisaged to overhaul 80 tanks annually, helping ensure their timely availability to the Army.
