Lucknow, Aug. 5 -- BJP Member Vijay Bahadur Pathak raised the issue of removing illegal encroachments from public land and investigating irregular allotments in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council on Wednesday.
He stated that serious irregularities have been reported in the conservation and allotment of government land for pasture, river, pond, and other public uses in the state, requiring effective action.
He informed the House that in Amroha, between 1987 and 2000, approximately 2,880 bighas of government land for pasture, river, and other public uses were reclassified and over 500 leases were allotted, ignoring the rules.
